The village of Upper Sheringham overlooks the town . . .

. . . from its vantage point on the hill, just north of the A148. The road down through the village winds its way, eventually joining the coast road as it enters its large neighbour. In the village, high flint walls, handsome cottages, and the church - All Saints'.

Sheringham Hall is to the west. Designed by Humphrey Repton and John Adey Repton, his son, and buit in 1812-17. The park and woodland are cared for by the National Trust and open to the public. The path from the car park, just off the A148, takes one along a fine azalea walk. Across the park and hidden in the lower wood, a gazebo, which when climbed gives spectacular treetop view.
