Pigg's Grave |

Pigg's Grave is a small copse at the junction of the B1110 (Holt to Dereham), the B1354 (Thursford to Aylsham) and the minor road called Gallowhill Lane on the north-west edge of Melton Park. It has the distinction of being the highest point in Norfolk, standing at 101 metres, or 322 feet above sea level, and is marked by a concrete Ordnance Survey triangulation pillar set amongst the trees. Pigg was a highwayman who was hanged on Gallowhill Lane and presumably buried here. Charles Thompson
