. . . centre, where the main Briston to Holt road crosses the River Glaven, many attractive cottages and houses surround the wide green. The Hunworth Bell, one of a dying breed of old fashioned village pubs, is placed at the green's west end. The steep roads in and out of the village are more typical of North Wales, or at least Devon, than 'flat' Norfolk. Hunworth also has not one, but two fords crossing the Glaven. In the parish's north-west corner, on the road to Study, is St. Lawrence's Church. The chancel was built in 1850, but the nave has a Saxon window and the south porch is 15th century. The tower is Norman. The 17th-century Hunworth Hall is placed opposite a watermill. William Evans
