Hempstead

All Saints' Church, Hempstead

The quiet, pretty village of Hempstead is two miles southeast of Holt. It is one of a group of villages in the Matlaske-Baconsthorpe area of North Norfolk that are reached by narrow, winding country lanes. Ideal for walking and cycling.

In the centre of the village is All Saints' Church with a short west tower, largely rebuilt in red-brick in 1744. The apse at its east end has a thatched roof, dated 1925-6.
