Fakenham stands to the east of the River Wensum, this provides an attractive short riverside walk throughout the year. Start from Bridge Street, walking south, and cross the bridge past the old watermill, now converted into arpartments. Here the river runs alongside the road. Eventually the river turns off to the right, with a footpath alongside it. Double back after crossing a small road bridge and follow the path to finish up back in the town centre.
