The massive west tower (c.1450) of the parish church, St. Peter and St. Paul, rises above the surrounding buildings and can be seen from just about anywhere in the town and the nearby countryside.

Fakenham has some fine buidings in the Market Place and a number of pretty small lanes and courts. Throughout the old town are various handsome 18th and 19th century buidings.
