|
Though Edgefield is not an especially large village, it is spread over a large area. the north-eastern half follows the course of the B1149 Holt to Norwich road, while Edgefield Street is towards the the southwest. ![]() St.Peter and St.Paul's Church was rebuilt in the 1880s on a new more central site under the leadership of the rector, Canon Walter Marcon. The new church was a reproduction of the old one, apart from the tower, using some pieces from the original. Consecration took place in 1885 and the tower was built in 1907-09, with a clock added in 1921. The tower from the old church (above) still stands one mile away in a farmyard. It is octagonal in shape and built from flint and carstone. William Evans |
