Whale on Brancaster beach

Local walkers view the whale

A Sperm Whale, reputed to be 50 feet long, was washed up on the beach at Brancaster beach on 11th February. These recent pictures shows groups of local people catching a glimpse, just north of the golf course. A channel seperates the beast from the spectators - the tides move very quickly on the wide flat beach, so great care needs to be taken. But it's an enjoyable walk out there, especially on a beautiful sunny winter's day as when these pictures were taken.
