Bessingham

Bessingham is sited in that very pretty corner of North Norfolk, about four miles south of Sheringham, and a little further east of Holt. As have the churches of a number of the neighbouring villages, St. Mary's has a round tower. But this one differs in that it is mainly built of carstone and not flint - dated from the mid-11th century. The church underwent restoration in 1869. Russell Freeman |
